Manufacturers are setting aside their initial reluctance to automate by committing capital investments to automation with an eye towards future savings. The lure of robotic technology is often tempered by the high entrance costs and concerns about staffing disruptions, but companies like Vickers Engineering — which makes parts for the automotive industry — are finding that increased automation pays for itself over time and can be added without necessarily cutting staff.
