Opinion: Bring the Pilgrim Pipeline to the Garden State

Pipelines are the most reliable way to transport refined petroleum products to New Jersey, argues the author. More than 6 billion gallons of oil and refined fuel are currently transported by barge along the Hudson River, an unreliable method during severe weather events. The Pilgrim Pipeline, a 178-mile project, would not increase the amount of product transported, he says, but “provides an alternative, more reliable route.”
