Industry 4.0: What Is It?

The next wave of data integration and manufacturing visibility, known as Industry 4.0, will help manufacturers have a deeper, real-time understanding of what is happening across their entire physical system. Presently, 40 percent of manufacturers do not have real-time information about their operating systems, according to a Smart Manufacturing Technologies survey. Greater visibility will improve cost efficiency, empower more flexible manufacturing practices, and reduce cycle time.
