Industrial IoT applications call for tougher, more sophisticated tech

Incorporating the Internet of Things in industrial settings means working with sophisticated machinery, designed differently than consumer products, which has implications for technology companies. “Traditional tech companies moving into industrial IoT will have to harden their technologies to operate within extremes of temperature, moisture, vibration and pressure. Redundant connectivity, storage capacity and/or processing power will be the norm,” writes SanDisk’s Chris Bergey.
