How to Verify Energy Efficient Machines

The industrial sector faces more pressure to be energy efficient than most fields. In order to evaluate claims of energy efficiency in the U.S., which does not have laws like China, India and the European Union regarding such claims, American manufacturers must measure cost, features and overall electricity use against performance. “The OEMs are caught in the crossfire,” says one product manager. “They want to offer energy-efficient products, but end user purchasing departments are still looking at the cost of the machine, rather than the total cost of ownership.”
