Recently Flowers Foods took advantage of the JEA InvestSmart program and replaced the lighting fixtures in their production facility. The upgrade consisted of the use of 149 I-Beam™ LED fixtures manufactured by Lithonia Lighting, a division of Acuity Brands and provided locally by Architectural Sales and Illumination (ASI) on the main floor. They also replaced 23 tungsten fixtures using 500 watts each with those consuming only 55 watts. Graybar Electric Company provided Flowers the information they needed and supplied the material.

The projected energy savings is over 488,000 kWh per year resulting in a reduction of between $5,000 and $8,000 per month.

Running 24/7 the life expectancy of the new LED fixtures is over 11 years.
