3D-Printing Machine Prices to Drop 6.4% This Year

The price of 3D printers should fall 6.4% this year on lower raw-material costs, import penetration, competitive pressures and technology advances, IBISWorld says. The market has an estimated 70 manufacturers and 30 retailers and distributors, with new manufacturers likely to enter the market this year. The technology is lowering costs for prototypes and replacing conventional methods such as injection molding on limited runs.
